  • Vacation, Website, Faith and Bongo Cat

    Hi friend! :)
    Those were eventful 2 weeks! Now back to work schedule ;^;

    Vacation

YES! I’ve had 2 weeks time off work. H A D ;^; Seriously though, I did get a lot done. There are still important things on my to-do-list that I wasn’t able to finish in time but everything that HAD to get done until today is ready. Thank goodness. Yesterday was a short day. Today is still a grace period to get my daily rhythm half-way back to normal and then Tuesday back to work.
I partially know what’s waiting for me on the desk but there’s enough time to stress out about it when I’m sitting there again working on it, right? RIGHT? ^^’
I am glad that I was able to get nice new things that I was looking forward to having. Small Shopping Spree :D Also I played some Hollow Knight these days because I’ve seen others play the new one, Silksong. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to finish the first game of the series though and likely won’t continue playing Hollow Knight on work days because I kinda don’t enjoy when there’s no guaranteed progress D:
It’s nicer to know “Hey, I got a little bit done from that huge goal I got!” than “Okay, I couldn’t continue on any of those question marks I got in the game because I kept failing on those goddamn jumps each fricking time …”
Apart from that, I made big plans in No Man’s Sky even though I haven’t actually played. Might try soon.

    New Website Updates

So I’ve put quite a few hours of this vacation into working on my new website! :) As I’ve known before, when you start working on something website-related you cannot just go in with “So I’ve got 30 mins now!” because that’s NEVER enough! D: That’s why I don’t know how to best continue this when it’s work time again. But I’ll figure something out. The site is not yet fully functional, so I’m not going to post the link just yet. I keep adding more details that I want and changing things to look like my color palette (a different one than on here btw.) :) Friends on Virtual Pet List have also expressed interest, so I am already super excited to share it with everyone hopefully soon!! :D

    Faith

    – Feel free to skip if you’re not interested! –
I know religion is not for everyone, so it’s quite a bad conversation starter. That’s why I don’t write or talk about it often and you may freely skip this paragraph if you don’t want to read about it :) I promise I’m not mad :D
So last week I’ve learned that there are supposedly differences between evangelic and catholic Vater unser (Our Father), which I hadn’t known before. And yet, when I tried to research the internet won’t give me the exact changes because whatever popped up I had learned it like that. There was mentioned that maybe one line each is left out but then again I know the whole text so … I’m not sure about that. While researching this I felt this weird sensation of comfort that I wanted to share. Like “feeling at home”, if I may say so.

    Bongo Cat

As you might already have noticed (as it has been in my “Currently Playing” for weeks and weeks), I am absolutely in love with the concept of Bongo Cat because it still gives me a “game” to play while doing other things. Similar to other “bottom of your screen” games like Rusty’s Retirement which was my first one of this kind and Tiny Pasture that I’ve picked up not too long ago. There is even less “action” required in Bongo Cat and it gives me cute rewards for counting my mouse clicks as well as typing on keys. The rewards are skins and items for the cat that is playing bongo on the bottom of the screen ^w^ You can dress up the cat with one skin and one item at a time. Recently, the devs have added Meowtiplayer (multiplayer) to the game and I already found a group in which we are bongo-ing together with the same people! NGL the cats are too much on my main monitor but it’s fun having them around on the second one :D
Now there has been a new update that has added EMOJIS to the game, so we can actually smile or wave at others and it’s just SO ADORABLE!! Hahaha ^-^

    Thanks a lot for reading!!
I hope you have a great day, see you next time!

    Love,
    Tifa

  • New Sticky Post: Currently Playing!

    Hey friends,

I’ve just added a new sticky post to the main site: Currently Playing! This is the new place for me to regularly update which games I am enjoying most at the moment :)
There’s going to be the categories Phone, Computer and Console because I can’t stop playing anywhere I go :D
Recently I’ve played Diablo IV close to a burnout because I wanted the rewards so badly – now there’s a new season and I am still excited to play more!
Which games are you thrilled about? Do you prefer to switch frequently or stick to one game and play it all the way through?
    Keep gaming and have fun!

    Thanks for reading,
    Tifa

  • Steam Next Fest October 2024 – Tifa’s Highlights

I love demos. And Steam loves them too! There’s been another Next Fest this week and I would like to share my favorites with you!

    Tifa’s Top 5 – Next Fest Edition

    . ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .

    Wild Woods

    (1 – 4 players online and local co-op)
You defend the precious cart together and make sure it reaches its destination safely. All while being cute cats!
The demo works well and you’re able to play a full run. It’s wonderfully playable with a controller and I love that I can throw items into the chest and don’t have to walk up all the way.
I can see this getting stressful in later levels but the demo was quite fun :)

    . ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .

    Tiny Aquarium

I think this one has been around in the Next Fest earlier this year but I forgot to mention it. I find myself still checking on my fishies sometimes and even though they can die (which would have been a no-go for me) you can resurrect them with some in-game money. I love the collecting aspect of this game and most of all that you can display it as a tiny live aquarium on your monitor!! That’s really cute and it’s rather relaxing seeing a few fish on the screen while doing other things.

    . ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .

    Garden Trill

Want to be a cute bird in a wholesome garden, plant flowers and collect adorable clothing and accessories?! Look no further, you have found YOUR game!
The demo works smoothly with the controller and I really enjoyed hopping and flapping around and trying a hat on!

    . ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .

    Trash Goblin

The demo works with the controller even though the game page didn’t say so. I have to admit that I preferred doing the activities with the mouse though. Thanks to the adjustable settings of clicking or hovering this isn’t too stressful for the hand (speaking as a carpal tunnel victim so I choose most games only when they have controller support).
I enjoyed the wholesome atmosphere between our character and their helpful friend. The demo shows the basic interactions and steps, I hope to see more cool things added in the final game :)

    . ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .

    Luma Island

    (1 – 4 players online co-op)
It bears similarity with Stardew Valley and My Time at Sandrock but Luma Island certainly has its own charm and the fishing mechanic is definitely something that I have never seen before!
I enjoy fishing a lot in games because the activity adds something relaxing for me (unlike in real life, mind you), so I always have to test it if it is available in games. Luma Island might increase your fear of darkness though because … you will see :D I loved the little “riddle ruins” that we were able to explore! We would have played for hours but the demo gives you the first 5 in-game days :) The only thing I wonder is what happens to the items in my inventory once I drop out of a co-op game. There were no chests you could have built to store things in. So is my character saved in my own Steam account with all her belongings? What happens when we want to continue the same game later, are my things still there? I liked the calm atmosphere of the game (except for when I panicked because I encountered a ghost) and am looking forward to the final game!

    . ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .

    Your thoughts?

That’s it from me, these were my favorite 5 games of those that I’ve seen and tested :)
I’d love to hear about yours if you’ve had a look as well! :D

PS: Always do recommend me games with enjoyable collecting or fishing mechanics, please :D

  • Steam Next Fest February 2024 – My Personal Highlights

This week was another episode of Steam’s Next Fest!
These demos are my personal favorites:

    Rotwood

    (1-4 players)
If the demo is this much fun, how awesome is the final game going to be?! Adored the style and enjoyed the cool weapons 😎
Can’t wait until release! I should have died less but Klei’s Rotwood is still very enjoyable :D

    Kamaeru – A Frog Refuge

This is the perfect new game for frog enthusiasts!🐸💖 Love the adorable style and especially my new little friends 🥰

    Baladins

    (1-4 players)
Any game could use a little DnD inspired mechanic. Add a lot of cuteness and co-op possibilities and then … you end up enjoying Baladins! Honestly though, the scenes and characters are awesome and I adore the style!

    Rusty’s Retirement

Enjoying Rusty’s Retirement while doing other stuff, watching the little guy care for my plants 🌿🪴🥕 Now that’s a very cute idle game 😍🎮🤖

    Spirit City: Lofi Sessions

A cozy game to collect spirit friends while you’re being productive to lofi music. And my character can have horns, that’s all I need xD

    Your thoughts?

That’s it from me, these were my favorite 5 games of those that I’ve seen and tested :)
I’d love to hear about yours if you’ve had a look as well! :D
